On Wednesday, January 18th, Dr. Jean-Marie Guéhenno, a member of the Saltzman Institute and the Director of the Center for International Conflict Resolution, will be speaking at R2P: The Next Decade. The conference marks the 10th anniversary of the conception of the “Responsibility to Protect” (R2P), the principle that states have an obligation to protect their population from mass atrocities. Dr. Guéhenno, who served as the UN’s Under-Secretary-General for peacekeeping operations from 2000 to 2008, will be presenting for a panel on “R2P in Practice — Policy Approaches Since 2005.” The panel will run from 11:30-12:45, EST.
Updated: In case you missed the live stream, the videos of the conference are now available for viewing at your convenience on FORA.tv, including Dr. Guehenno’s panel.
