Sarah Martinson is a senior in the joint program between Columbia’s School of General Studies and JTS, majoring in both Middle Eastern Studies and Jewish Ethics. Her professional interests include immigration affairs, local and federal policy, and counter-terrorism research. Previously, she has worked for Senator Schumer, the American Counter Terrorism Targeting Resilience Institute, and the New York City Council. During her junior year at Columbia, Sarah produced a thesis with the Middle Eastern Studies Department titled “The Genealogy of British Counterinsurgency in Mandatory Palestine and Post 1948.” She hopes to bring her longstanding interests in national security and counterterrorism into her professional career.
