Florian Qehaja is Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Saltzman Institute. During his mobility, he will conduct post-doctoral research on the deconstruction of local ownership in security sector development.

Back in his home country, Florian Qehaja is the Executive Director of the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS). He is the author of several scientific and policy publications in security studies. He serves as an international consultant on security issues cooperating with leading international governmental and non-governmental organizations. Most recently, he is coordinating the bilateral support of the Norwegian Ministry of Defense in the Ministry of Kosovo Security Force. He is an opinion-maker in the security field providing analysis for local and international media. He has also conducted recent research work on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) by leading a team of researchers identifying the risks of violent extremism in the Western Balkans.

Florian Qehaja is a doctor of science on security studies from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. Moreover, he graduated from the University of Sussex (United Kingdom) in Contemporary European Studies (MA) and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Law at the University of Prishtina.
