SIWPS Member Austin Long was quoted in an article published today in the International Business Times about the capture of the Iraqi city Mosul by ISIS fighters.

“There is a definite connection between what is going on in Fallujah and Mosul and what is going on in Syria,” Professor Long commented. “Syria is a huge front for international jihad. They have leverage in terms of recruiting assets in Syria. It gives them an additional way to mobilize folks.”
