Dr. Meghan O’Sullivan is a lecturer at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. She left the government last year after serving as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor, responsible for coordinating policy on Iraq and Afghanistan. O’Sullivan served previously in Baghdad and on the State Department’s Policy Planning Staff, where she worked on the Northern Ireland peace process. Before entering government she did research at the Brookings Institution. Her publications include Shrewd Sanctions: Statecraft and State Sponsors of Terrorism (Brookings Institution Press, 2003). Her B.A. is from Georgetown and Ph.D. from Oxford.
