Institute member Stuart Gottlieb responds to a letter to the editor of the New York Times urging Americans to try to bridge the political divide and “reclaim the place of reason in our political life.”

“The genius of the American system,” Gottlieb argues, “is that only the outcome needs to be reasonable and rational – not the process.”
