On June 6, 2014, Camille Francois and Shawn Lonergan, scholars at the Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies, participated in the 70th Anniversary of D-Day events in France. They were selected to support a panel addressing the security and privacy implications of cyberspace during the Freedom and Solidarity Forum.  The panel consisted of the General Jean-Paul Palomeros, NATO Supreme Allied Commander for Transformation; The RT HON Mark Francois, British Minister of State for the Armed Forces; Tom Enders, CEO Airbus Group;  and several other leading CEOs. Shawn and Camille are pictured below with General Palomeros. Francois and Lonerganwere also able to briefly meet President Obama and Francois Hollande, President of the French Republic, as guests at the official bilateral commemoration ceremony.
