Professor Richard K. Betts published a piece entitled “The Three Faces of NATO” in the March/April 2009 issue of The National Interest.  The article discusses the alliance’s “identity crisis,” arguing for serious reconsideration of NATO’s fundamental purpose in the wake of the Cold War.
