Colonel Christopher Wehri is a native of Van Wert, Ohio, but lived in several locations across the United States and Europe during his childhood. He entered the Army as an Armor/Cavalry officer and has served in the continental United States, Europe, Asia, Korea, and three combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. He is now a Senior Army Strategist that has worked at all echelons of the defense enterprise, focused on plans, policy, and military strategy. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University, a MA in Public Administration from the University of Kansas, and a MMAS in Strategic Operations from the School of Advanced Military Studies at the U.S. Army’s Command and General Staff College. During his 23 years in the Army, Wehri has served as a Tank, Scout, and Support Platoon Leader, Troop Executive Officer, Cavalry Troop Commander, Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commander of NATO’s Allied Land Component Command, Heidelberg, Germany, Strategic Plans Officer for the Combined Security Transition Command and NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan, Operations Officer and Executive Officer for a Stryker Cavalry Squadron, Chief of Plans and then Director, G-5, Strategy, Plans, and Concepts, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, NC, and Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff, G-5, Strategy, Plans, and Policy, Eighth Army, Camp Humphreys, Republic of Korea. Most recently, Wehri served on the Joint Staff as the as the Deputy Division Chief for the China-Taiwan-Mongolia Division, Deputy Directorate for Politico-Military Affairs (Asia), Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy (J-5).
